Five perpetrators were named suspects in the case of sexual harassment of a vocational school student in Bolaang Mongondow Regency, North Sulawesi (Sulut).
This was conveyed by the Head of Public Relations of the North Sulawesi Police, Kombes Pol Jules Abraham Abas. “The five of them have been named as suspects,” said Kombes Jules, Tuesday, March 10, 2020.
However, the five suspects were not detained, but were subject to mandatory daily reporting sanctions. However, the legal process continues.
“No one has been detained because the perpetrators are still students. In addition, the parents (of the perpetrators) provide guarantees,” he said as quoted by Antara.
The five perpetrators were three students and two female students. The three students had the initials RM, NP, and PL. Meanwhile, two students with the initials NR and PN.
Both the perpetrator and the victim were students at a Vocational High School in Bolaang Mongondow Regency, North Sulawesi.
From the results of the interim examination, the motive for the perpetrators of the action was to joke in class while waiting for the teacher to come in.
For their actions, the five perpetrators were suspected of violating Article 82 of Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection with a minimum penalty of five years, a maximum of 15 years in prison. Several suspects were also subject to an additional article, namely Article 55 of the Criminal Code.
Previously circulating on social media was a video recording of a student dressed in a uniform lying on the floor of a room.
The student tried to rebel because her body parts were touched by several students and other students. However, the student could not fight back because his hands and feet were held by these students.
