In addition, Abdul said that Penajam Paser Utara never had an official residence like other districts. He also explained that in Kalimantan, areas such as Kubar, Kutai Kartanegara, East Kutai, Balikpapan, to Samarinda already have official residences. The new city or area also has something similar. He then said that Penajam Paser Utara is now more than 20 years old, but does not yet have an official residence.
Facts about officials in North Penajam Paser whose house is contracted because there is no official house
You could say, this phenomenal official residence in North Penajam Paser Regency is the first in the region. Rendi MSDuha, Senior Researcher from the Center for Indonesia Strategic Actions (CISA), argues that this fantastically-charged official residence is unethical in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Through Republika, he explained that the budget should have been diverted for the benefit of the people in the context of handling Covid-19. According to him, this should be a priority over the official residence.
He also argues that this decision reflects the lack of sense of crisis from Abdul as the Regent of North Penajam Paser. According to him, it would be better if the focus and urgency of officials were aimed at the interests of the community. He also mentioned about the luxurious lifestyle of officials who are not commensurate with their good performance.
