During their marriage, they lived in apartments 8 and 9 at Kensington Palace. Even though they are called apartments, according to Hello! Diana and Charles lived in much larger than most people imagined. The apartment has three floors and many rooms. In an article published by Time in 1988, William and Harry lived in the nursery which was located on the top floor. The floor has its own bathroom with toilet and sink suitable for children.
Over the weekend, Diana, Charles, and their two sons spent a lot of time at Highgrove House—a country house two hours from Kensington Palace. According to Harper’s Bazaar, they often spend time gardening and growing organic food at Highgrove.

When the two officially divorced in 1996, it was decided that Diana would remain in Apartments 8 and 9. She remained there until her death in 1997. However, Diana was no longer allowed to have an office at St. Palace. James. Instead, he set up his office at Kensington Palace.
