Crazybola.com – Mikel Arteta resigned, realized that Arsenal could not catch three goals and ordered his men to recede back in the Premier League match on Saturday night 28 August 2021, only waiting for two more Manchester City goals to occur in the second half of the match which ended 5-0.
Three City goals in the first half, successively through Ilkay Gundogan and then Ferran Torres (see photo) and Gabriel Jesus closed the first half with the score 3-0.
But Granit Xhaka’s red card as he tackled Joao Cancelo with two goals left Arsenal with little choice. It’s difficult to get back three goals with only 10 players. Impossible to happen against reigning champions Manchester City.
The stats for the second half were absolutely pathetic for Mikel Arteta’s squad. The home side were absolutely dominant with 86 per cent and 17 attempted goals and five shots on target, two of which came through Rodri in the 53rd minute of Torres’ assist and then the Spaniard scored his second just six minutes from time.
This is the fifth time Arsenal have lost to the Skyblues in their last six matches in all competitions. The Gunners have only managed to win once from the latest six head-to-heads, namely in the FA Cup semi-final in July 2020. The other five matches, including today, ended with the Citizens victory.
This is the second time City have won by a big score over Arsenal after previously winning 1-4 at the Emirates Stadium in December 2020 in an EFL Cup match.
