1NEWS, There are two things that seem to attract the most attention ahead of the big match in the third week of the English Premier League 2021-2022 between Liverpool and Chelsea. The first is the return of mainstay defender Virgil Van Dijk to Liverpool and the second is the arrival of Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea.
Liverpool coach, Juergen Klopp, admits that Chelsea will be different with Lukaku in the home match at Anfield Stadium, Liverpool, England, Saturday (28/8), it. From a tactical point of view, Klopp is prepared for Lukaku’s more central movement as happened when the forward scored against Arsenal.
“Romelu, when you look at the game against Arsenal, the two goals they scored, one was a Reece James cross towards him and you could see how Arsenal tried to block him and how he blocked the third up front and then got into the box for a really easy goal. ” said Klopp as quoted from the Liverpool website.
Meanwhile, Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel said the return of Van Dijk would provide a sense of security for other players. The German coach also noted Van Dijk’s ability to secure conditions around him.
“It’s a reality and we don’t have to hide from it. Liverpool with Van Dijk is different than without Van Dijk,” said Tuchel. “It’s not just his isolation capacity and performance level but also that he makes everyone around him feel comfortable and stronger.”
With the presence of Lukaku, Tuchel seems to be able to show the sharpness of a solid front line. Lukaku will be even stronger because Tuchel has paired him with reliable players like Kai Havertz and Mason Mount.
Likewise with Klopp who is likely to only lose James Milner in the match against Chelsea. Roberto Firmino-Mohamed Salah-Sadio Mane’s front trident will still be played.
Both bagged two wins in the opening two matches, the battle will be close. However, the factor of playing at Anfield will benefit the hosts and Liverpool have the opportunity to win 1-0.
