ACCURATE.CO Although the name is Mount Botak, this mountain in South Manokwari Regency is not completely bare. Big trees are not visible in all directions, but short vegetation and savanna cover the ridge of this mountain, making it look like a giant yellowish green mound.
The mountain that seems to be formed from spilled soil near the sea is directly opposite the Pacific ocean. From the top, you can see views of the expanse of the sea, as well as the twists and turns of the white sand road at the foot of the mountain.
At the headland, visitors can take pictures with a backdrop of mountain and ocean views, which look like a calm lake surrounded by mountains.
In some parts, the stretch of white sand is wide enough for a play area by the beach. However, if you want to take selfies near cliffs or mountains, you should be careful because there are no adequate security fence facilities.
Not only taking selfies, you can also camp here. However, you must prepare all the camping needs while still in the City Center. Because, here around Mount Botak no one has sold equipment for camping.
Mount Botak is located on Jl. Manokwari – Bintuni, precisely in Yekwandi, South Manokwari, West Papua. The location is quite far from the city center of Manokwari. If you want to visit this place, you can look it up on Google maps.
However, keep in mind that when in the vicinity of Mount Botak, it is very difficult to be reached by the signal. Then, the road to Mount Botal has not been completely paved.
Therefore, to get to this mountain, you need a car with strong specifications in all fields, not just any car to get to this place.
You can rent it at a special off-road car rental place. The trip scheme, departs from Soekarno Hatta airport or Halim Perdana Kusuma, then goes to Papua and gets off at Rendani airport. Then this mountain is about 150 km from Manokwari City and takes approximately 4-5 hours of travel.
