As confirmed by the Head of the Serangan Village, Wayan Karma said that during the Covid-19 pandemic, his area had never entered the orange zone, let alone the red zone. He admitted that he was very aggressive in educating the public regarding the implementation of health protocols.

“We continue to urge the public to obey health protocols, as well as maintain their immune system. During Banyu Pinaruh, we also held an insulation so that no one would touch the beach in our area, so as not to cause a crowd,” Karma said when contacted on Sunday, August 29, 2021 afternoon.

In addition to carrying out isolation measures, his party also takes steps on a regular basis related to the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic. Where every holiday, prayers are held by traditional village soldiers to ask for safety at the Village Temple.

In addition, every year in Serangan Traditional Village, the Mintar tradition is also held. Where this tradition is a tradition of repellent reinforcements which is held every November. In the implementation of this tradition, all of Ida Bhatara’s palawatan mesolah around Serangan.

“Ida Betara launched (circle) in the Serangan area to maintain the security of the region and the people here,” he said.

According to him, this tradition stems from an epidemic of vomiting that once attacked the Serangan area in the 1950s. “In the 1950s, the Serangan area had an epidemic of vomiting and many people died. Finally, the traditional village carries out this ritual every year as a repellent against reinforcements,” he said.
