Despite his success, Putra Siregar has apparently been accused of violating the customs article because he was proven to be storing and selling illegal cellphones. The Customs and Excise party managed to confiscate 190 cellphones from three shops that were not registered in the Ministry of Industry’s database, causing the state to suffer a loss of Rp 26,332,919.
Putra Siregar himself admitted that he knew nothing about such a rule. He didn’t even think that the cellphones he bought from Jimmy in Batam turned out to be black market goods.
