Titan Publishing has just announced their collaboration with Netflix to publish new tie-in books and comic strips for the series Cowboy Bebop. The UK-based publisher will release three new projects in the coming months: Cowboy Bebop: The Comic Series, which follows the Bebop crew on a never-before-seen adventure; Cowboy Bebop: A Syndicate Story: Red Planet Requiem, a new novel set in the world of the series; and Cowboy Bebop: Making the Netflix Series, a diary of the serial production process.

Comic Cowboy Bebop the new one will be written by DC veteran, Dan Watters will be drawn by Lamar Mathurin. The story follows the Bebop crew who go after a former gang member who has a fortune vest. The series will build on the comic traditions associated with the franchise, including the 1997 Manga series by Cain Kuga, and the 1998 version of the comic series by Yutaka Nanten.

Cowboy Bebop: A Syndicate Story: Red Planet Requiem written by Sean Cummings. The novel is set before the events of the live-action series and is described as exploring the fictional history of the series through the eyes of young Spike Spiegel and his friend and then rival, Vicious.

Whereas Cowboy Bebop: Making the Netflix Series is a book written by Jeff Bond, who was previously involved in Narcos: The Art and Making of the Show, and The World of the Orville. Packed full of beautiful concept art and behind-the-scenes photos, this book tells the story of a long and tumultuous series production process, which was stopped when the main character John Cho was injured while performing an action scene, and was later delayed again when COVID protocol halted production in New Zealand.

Based on the acclaimed 90s anime series from director Shinichirō Watanabe, Netflix’s new live-action series will feature John Cho as Spike Spiegel, a bounty hunter with the spaceship Bebop. His crew consists of Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir), a former police officer, and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda), an amnesiac con artist. Together, they hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals as they try to escape from their own past.

In addition, this series will also feature Alex Hassell (Suburbicon) as Vicious, and Elena Satine (Revenge) as Julia. The 10-episode live-action series will be directed by Michael Katleman and Alex Garcia Lopez with Christopher Yost (Thor: The Dark World, Thor: Ragnarok) and Javier Grillo-Marxuach serving as scriptwriters.

Cowboy Bebop is an anime series set in sci-fi set in the 21st century. When crime rates began to rise due to hyperspace travel technology, the government created a system for bounty hunters to cooperate with law enforcement. This anime focuses on a group of bounty hunters who go by the name “Cowboys” and also a crew member named “Bebop.”

Cowboy Bebop will debut November 19 on Netflix. the tie-in comic, Cowboy Bebop #1, will go on sale in December. Cowboy Bebop: A Syndicate Story: Red Planet Requiem will be available in paperback version on November 23. Cowboy Bebop: Making the Netflix Series will be available in hardback on January 11, 2022.
