Member of the House of Representatives Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency (BKSAP), I Putu Supadma Rudana, stated that the Bali economy since the COVID-19 pandemic has experienced a negative trend.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out in early 2020, the tourism sector, which has been the mainstay of Bali’s economy, has slumped. This issue is a serious concern. Not only from tourism actors and local governments, but also legislators from Bali in Senayan.

I Putu Supadma Rudana who is also a Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the Democratic faction said, Bali in the last five quarters experienced a deep, double-digit contraction. Regarding the recovery of tourism and the economy in Bali, his party admitted that they were the most stubborn in voicing in the DPR RI.

“I speak the loudest, loudest echo this in the DPR RI. I always remind the leadership and other members in plenary meetings,” he said Tuesday (31/08/2021) on the sidelines of a meeting with the Regent of Tamba.

Regarding the recovery of tourism and the economy in Bali, his party stated that it was the domain of the government, “We in the DPR are supervising. We have to keep pressing,” added Supadma Rudama.

According to him, in order to open tourism, it is necessary to know in advance that the condition of the spread of COVID-19 is under control. “Now PPKM, level 1, 2, 3 and 4. PPKM must also be controlled first,” he explained.

His party encourages tourism to open immediately, although slowly. “If possible, it’s called a travel bubble. There are areas that are already green zones, we have to open them up,” he said.

According to him, this step is important for Bali’s economic recovery.
