1NEWS, Former Democrat Party politician Ferdinand Hutahaean highlighted the efforts of the PDIP and PSI factions in the DKI Jakarta DPRD to propose interpellation rights for the implementation of Formula E in 2022.

Ferdinand assessed that the interpellation would not be proposed if DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan was open about the implementation of Formula E.

“The interpellation does not need to exist if @aniesbaswedan dares to open a press conference:

1. Proof of transfer fee Formula E Rp560 M

2. Proof of Bank Guarantee Rp.423 M

3. Contents of MOU with FIA, Rights and Obligations of Local Government

5. Where will the 2022 race be located?

6. Where will the funds for 2022 come from?” chirped Ferdinand using the Twitter account @FerdinandHaean3 as quoted ACCURATE.CO on Tuesday (31/8/2021).

It is known, the results of the audit of the DKI Jakarta Financial Audit Agency (BPK) noted that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government had paid Formula E Operatons (FEO) as the promoter and license holder of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship worth 53 British pounds or equivalent to Rp.983.31 billion in 2019-2020.

Payment details consist of fee worth 20 million British pounds or the equivalent of Rp360 billion which was paid in 2019. Then, fee worth 11 million British pounds or equivalent to Rp200.31 billion paid in 2020. Then Bank Guarantee worth 22 million British pounds, equivalent to Rp423 billion.

Even though the fee has been paid, Anies Baswedan decided to postpone the implementation of Formula E due to the Covid-19 pandemic that hit Indonesia.

Meanwhile, PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) appointed by Anies as the organizer of Formula E immediately renegotiated with the FEO with the intention of withdrawing the fee that had been paid to the Bank Guarantee.

FEO granted Jakpro’s request. However, the payment of the fee for the implementation of the first stage of the 2020-2021 season, which has been paid in the amount of Rp. 200.31 billion, cannot be withdrawn.

Over time, the polemic of the implementation of Formula E always sticks out. At its peak, the PDIP and PSI factions filed for interpellation rights. They urged the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to cancel the implementation of Formula E. Then, the funds that were originally for the implementation of Formula E were diverted to handling the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Formula E Interpellation has been signed by 33 board members.[]
