Mihajlovic doesn't like the decision to release Tomiyasu on Deadline Day – Bologna coach Sinisa Mihajlovic admitted that he was a little disturbed by the sale of one of his defenders Takehiro Tomiyasu to Arsenal because it only happened a few hours before the transfer window closed.

The future of Takehiro Tomiyasu itself has indeed become a question mark this summer because Bologna are actually ready to release the versatile defender as long as there is a suitable offer. Since the opening of the transfer market there have been several negotiations with interested teams but an agreement has never been reached.

However, on the last day of the summer transfer window, Bologna actually reached an agreement to sell Tomiyasu permanently to Arsenal. The decision is reportedly quite disturbing the coach of the I Rossoblu, Sinisa Mihajlovic who although ready to lose his Japanese defender but does not like the timing of the sale.

Speaking to the media at an event reported by Football Italia, Mihajlovic himself was actually satisfied with the transfer movement from his club prior to the sale of Tomiyasu in the hours leading up to the closing of the player market. The tactician was already prepared to lose the Japanese national team defender but he did not suspect that the new player would be released about five to six hours before the close of the transfer window.

It was the timing of the sale that the coach was concerned about because he didn’t seem to expect any significant changes from his team’s movement both in terms of buying and selling. However, having to lose a player who is quite reliable when it feels like the movement from his club is over is definitely not an easy thing to take for granted.

Bologna itself is arguably quite profitable from the sale of Tomiyasu because he was brought in by Arsenal for IDR 389 billion even though the team made by Mihajlovic only spent IDR 118 billion to bring in the player from Japan from Belgian club VV Sint-Truiden in 2019.

Tomiyasu himself is also a figure who is very interested in his new club Arsenal because the player has the ability to play in several positions on the back line. This is indeed the reason why Mikel Arteta’s team are desperate to bring the 22-year-old defender.
