1NEWS – During a career of nearly six decades, Jackie Chan has starred in many successful films. It is not surprising that the man who is now 67 years old is estimated by the Celebrity Net Worth page to have a fortune of 400 million US dollars or Rp. 5.7 trillion. Despite having exorbitant wealth, Jackie Chan will not give an inheritance to his only son, Jaycee Jhan.

In 2011, in Beijing, China, on one occasion Jackie Chan said he would donate all of his wealth to charities when he died. He also mentioned the reason for not giving inheritance to his son. “If he can afford it, he can make his own money. If not, then he will just be wasting my money,” the actor was quoted as saying by Channel News Asia.

Jaycee Jhan himself has a bad reputation. In 2014, Jaycee, then 31 years old, was arrested for substance use. As a result, he had to spend six months in prison. Even though at that time his father was a Narcotics Control Ambassador. He was appointed an anti-narcotics ambassador by the Chinese police in 2009.

Jackie Chan himself later apologized on behalf of his son on the Chinese social media platform Weibo. “I hope young people will take lessons from Zuming (Jaycee) and stay away from drugs,” Chan wrote, according to China Daily. “I failed to be a good father and I deserve to be blamed. I will take responsibility and apologize to the public on Jaycee’s behalf.”
