1NEWS – Saipul Jamil received a boycott in the form of a petition refusing to appear on television screens after being released from prison. Apparently, he can still appear as long as his content complies with the Broadcasting Code of Conduct and Broadcast Program Standards (P3SS).
Commissioner of the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission, Nuning Rodiyah, who confirmed this to 1NEWS. “So, Saipul Jamil can appear as long as the load complies with P3SS,” said Nuning when contacted on Friday (3/9/2021).
According to Nuning, it will not be a problem as long as Saipul Jamil does not inspire people to commit immoral acts when appearing on television.
“If you return to the television station as long as it doesn’t inspire someone not to commit a sexual crime, I think that’s fine,” he said.
Unless Saipul Jamil’s content content violates broadcasting guidelines, Nuning will not hesitate to ban Dewi Persik’s ex-husband from appearing. “If the charge violates it, we will ban it,” he explained.
Because, he said the KPI did not have a problem with the background of the artist. But pay more attention to the content of the impressions. “Because we don’t consider the background, but rather the content,” said Nuning.
As is known, Saipul Jamil was released from his prison term from the Cipinang Penitentiary, East Jakarta, Thursday (2/8/2021).
His freedom caused controversy. Some of the people who made the petition banned Saipul Jamil from appearing on television shows. The reason is that he is a child molester.
It is known, a number of petitions have appeared to boycott Saipul Jami, including the change.org site which has collected more than 26,000 signatures at 20.00 WIB. [Muhammad Anzar Anas]
