Taipei Houston, is a band formed by two sons of Metallica drummer, Lars Ulrich. This band consists of Myles Ulrich (drama) and Layne Ulrich (bass). This rock band has just uploaded a teaser of their song on social media entitled ‘Respecter’.

Before uploading their own song teaser, they also performed the songs ‘Eleanor Rugby’ and ‘Blackbird’ by The Beatles with their own arrangements.

Lars says “I believe there are several versions cover a good one from ‘Eleanor Rigby’, but I’m pretty sure no one has ever brought it like these two kids did. There is an element of madness and anger implied in it.” Then Lars continued to speak while pointing to his children, “you should know, you make me very proud”.

In terms of age, Myles is 23 years old, he spends his time at the Berklee College Of Music. Meanwhile, 20-year-old Layne studied at NYU. Both are children of Lars’ ex-wife, Skylar Satenstein. He also has another son, Bryce, who is 14 years old. The result of his marriage to Connie Nielsen.

Taipei Houston Is Not The First Band Of Metallica Members’ Children

Layne and Myles Ulrich are not the first children of a Metallica member to follow in his father’s footsteps to form the band. Rob Trujillo, Metallica’s bassist has a son named Tye who also followed in his father’s footsteps playing bass. He was in the bands OTTTO and Blue Weekend with the son of the late Scott Weiland, Noah.

It seems that the enthusiasm that Layne and Myles brought did not just stop on social media. They already have two concerts scheduled for the end of this month. Taipei Houston will perform on September 9 at Alex’s Bar Long Beach, California. And also on September 15th at The Mint. Los Angeles with Left The Slash, Zach Lewis and Nautical Front.

You could say that they are still relatively young and are supported by parents who have a background as musicians top markotop it makes the music process easier. Hopefully we will soon hear the latest releases from Taipei Houston.
