Crazybola.com – Tottenham Hotspur saw two offers for Adama Traore rejected by Wolverhampton Wanderers during last summer’s transfer window, and now the Spain international could be rewarded with a new contract at his club.
Wolverhampton Wanderers plan to review Adama Traore’s contract situation now that the transfer window closes, with his current contract only two years remaining and he has turned down the opportunity to extend it several times over the past 12 months.
The 25-year-old had been Tottenham Hotspur’s main transfer target during last summer’s transfer window, with the North London club initially offering a loan deal for a fee of IDR 99 billion plus a permanent purchase option, which Wolves rejected.
The Lily Whites then tried their luck again at the transfer deadline, making an offer of IDR 593 billion to allow Adama Traore to reunite with his former manager Nuno Espirito Santo, unfortunately that offer was once again rejected.
According to reports, Wolves are demanding a fee of up to IDR 1 trillion for their winger and they are also still determined to keep one of their stars for the 2021/2022 season under their new manager, Bruno Lage.
Chief executive Jeff Shi and the Wolves transfer team are also aware of the anger a potential sale of Adama Traore will cause, while they have also failed to strengthen their squad any further in the transfer window this summer. Now the club plans to award the Spain international a new contract, whose contract could have one more year remaining at the end of the 2021/2022 season.
It’s a shame that at the age of 25, the winger has begun to have ambitions of returning to European football after tasting it with Wolves two seasons ago. Wolves’ chances of giving that chance seemed slim, which is why he turned down a new contract earlier in the name of wanting to move to a more established team.
