Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) politician, Kapitra Ampera questioned the political power of former frontman of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), Habib Rizieq Shihab (HRS).

This was conveyed by Kapitra regarding the statement by the Deputy Secretary General of PA 212 Novel Bamukmin who accused Habib Rizieq’s appeal decision at the DKI Jakarta High Court (PT) full of political interests of the authorities in the 2024 Election.

Then Kapitra also questioned how much political power Habib Rizieq had.

He also insinuated, whether by shouting in the streets like what Habib Rizieq did can bring big changes to the Indonesian nation.

“Now ask, what the heck, what political power does (Habib Rizieq) have. What can be changed in this republic by shouting in the street? What?” Kapitra said quoting Genpi on Sunday, September 5, 2021.

HRS is advised to form a political party

Furthermore, Kapitra suggested that if Habib Rizieq wanted to focus on politics, he could start by forming a political party (party).

Thus, the actions or movements that Habib Rizieq conveyed would certainly be more effective than just shouting in the streets.

“So, formally, there are constitutional ways. Wanting to change the country from the street is destroying it, it is revolution, destroying. Where there are changes that can be made on the road, “he said.

Kapitra also can not deny that the political movement on the road can be successful.

However, with a note, the movement must lead to the parliament, DPR and MPR RI as formal institutions.

“Try to form a political party, prove that Habib Rizieq is a political figure and behaves,” he said.

Regarding HRS proposing to become a presidential candidate

Later, if Habib Rizieq succeeds in establishing a political party, he can prove his political strength and influence by winning support through the presidential threshold.

“If he could, surely he could propose (himself) as a presidential candidate. But if I only scream my strength, nothing. Can’t you see, what power?” he said.

“So, it’s better if you want to participate in the development of this nation, change it through legal, constitutional and formal means. That can be done,” he added.
