Boaz Solossa is one of the Borneo FC players who has not had the opportunity to play against Persebaya in the first week of Liga 1 2021-2022.
In the duel that took place at the Wibawa Mukti Stadium, Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, Saturday (4/9/2021), coach Mario Gomez failed to play Boaz Solossa.
According to Mario Gomez, the 35-year-old striker has not yet reached optimal fitness to get playing time.
“Boaz is a quality player. I think everyone knows about him,” said Mario Gomez, quoted from the club’s official website.
“However, for the time being, Boaz is not in good shape to play,” he continued.
Actually, this Argentine coach had wanted to play Boaz Solossa, exactly 15 minutes before the game ended.
However, the decision was overturned because Borneo FC had to replace the injured Leo Guntara.
“We initially wanted to play Boaz, but Leo had an injury so we had to make a quick change,” said Mario Gomez.
“Initially, we planned to play Boaz in the last 15 minutes. However, because of the quick change, we were forced not to play him,” he added.
Nevertheless, Mario Gomez still hinted that the former Persipura Jayapura captain could play in the near future.
Because at this time, the former mainstay of the Indonesian national team is working hard to restore his fitness.
“He has to get his physical condition back first. However, it will not last long,” he said.
“Because now he’s been working hard in training to get his first place in the team,” he added.
Even without Boaz Solossa, the Pesut Etam squad managed to secure the first three points against Persebaya Surabaya.
At the end of the match, the team from Samarinda managed to end the match with a pretty landslide score, 3-1.
Borneo FC’s three goals were contributed by Muhammad Sihran (8′), Terens Puhiri (48′), and Guy Junior (61′).
Meanwhile, Bajul Ijo’s squad, nicknamed Persebaya, was only able to score one goal back through Ricky Kambuaya (75′). (Skor.id)
