1NEWS – Saipul Jamil’s hope to return to existence in the entertainment world after being released from prison was met with resistance from the wider community. An online petition calling for a boycott of him from television and YouTube has emerged, which has so far been signed by more than 300 people.

Aware of so many rejections against him, Saipul Jamil apologized. This statement was made by Ipul when he was a guest on the Rizky Billar and Lesti Kejora program, which was broadcast on ANTV, Sunday (5/9).

Before starting to sing the song, Saipul Jamil apologized to the people of Indonesia.

“Assalamualaikum to all viewers at home. Maybe there are my words or my actions that make the viewers at home disappointed. I am just an ordinary human being who does not escape from sins and mistakes,” said Saipul Jamil.

Saipul Jamil said he had paid for his mistake by serving a prison sentence. Dewi Perssik’s ex-husband asked to be guided to be able to live his days ahead.

“I’ve made amends for my mistakes in prison. I ask for his guidance, his love, for me to walk my days ahead. Once again from the bottom of my heart I ask for the door to be opened with the greatest forgiveness,” continued Saipul Jamil.

In addition to the online petition, an invitation to boycott Saipul Jamil was also directly conveyed

Commissioner of the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI), Retno Listyarti. Retno called the boycott action echoed by the community as a form of public attention to child protection.

According to Retno, the media should use the perspective of protecting children. Therefore, the media should not give room for perpetrators of sexual abuse of children to exist again.

“This petition reminds us all not to tolerate and not to give space to people who have committed acts of sexual abuse against children,” said Retno Listyarti in a video uploaded on her personal Youtube channel, Sunday (5/9).
