Persib Bandung coach, Robert Rene Alberts, was not satisfied even though his team managed to win over Barito Putera in the first week of Liga 1 2021-2022.

In a match held at the Indomilk Arena Stadium, Tangerang Regency, Saturday (4/9/2021) night, Persib won 1-0 over Barito Putera.

The only goal that was created in the match was scored by Marc Klok through the execution of a set piece in the 86th minute.

Robert Alberts said the team nicknamed the Blue Prince could actually play dominantly in terms of ball possession in the match.

However, the Dutch coach admitted that the lack of creativity made it difficult for his team to score throughout the match.

In addition, a number of opportunities that are obtained are also not many that can be converted into goals. The lack of effectiveness in converting opportunities is what gets serious attention.

“I think, if you look at the 90 minutes of the game, we controlled the ball possession,” Robert said in a virtual press conference session after the game.

“We didn’t create many chances when we looked at possession. We should be more creative and effective,” he continued.

Persib’s problem in terms of finishing was also acknowledged by the naturalized midfielder, Esteban Vizcarra.

In addition, this Argentine-born player also admits that the Blue Prince’s attack line still needs to be improved.

Because, after all, most of the Persib players haven’t competed in a long time. Thus, the quality of their sharpness still needs time to return to optimal.

“As the coach said, we did control the game, but still not effective in finishing up front,” he said.

“Maybe it’s because we haven’t played football in a long time. But most importantly, we managed to get the three points,” he added.
