“A pass that really made a lot of people applaud. Classy!”

1NEWS – Timo Werner answered many people’s criticism with a good performance with the German national team in the Euro 2022 World Cup Qualifying match versus Armenia. Two goals and a classy assist are proof of the quality of the Chelsea striker.

Despite scoring 12 goals and 15 assists during his first season in West London, Werner still had to bear the brunt of too much criticism from Blues fans.

Even after playing an important role for Chelsea in the Champions League winning campaign, the criticism of the 25-year-old player has not subsided. Evidently, during the pre-season training session, the opinion developed that Werner should leave Stamford Bridge.

With Romelu Lukaku now playing in the middle for Thomas Tuchel’s side, Werner has a huge opportunity to improve. He is now able to play a bit wide, which is his favorite position.

Werner proved this position in the Germany match, Monday (6/9/2021) early morning hrs. He plays very loose and agile. During the 6-0 win over Armenia in Stuttgart (his hometown), the Chelsea star managed to score a pair of goals and assists.

And, what became the talk and the spotlight was Werner’s assist which was done in a very beautiful and technical way. Werner, who played just ahead of Marco Reus, Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane, always opened up space to play a little wide.

He was in the right position when receiving the cross. Werner, who was in the box, did not hold the ball with his groin or legs or chest. Through the heels crossed, while jumping slightly, Werner pushed the ball towards his partner who was in a more comfortable position. That makes Reus have an easy chance to hit the ball.

“Lukaku definitely likes this way,” said one Chelsea fan on Twitter. “Timo Werner flows with confidence,” wrote another. “World class”, said another.

It’s not over there yet. Werner then scored the fourth goal for Der Panzer. And, of course, Werner’s form wouldn’t be complete without a seemingly mundane offside goal. Surrounding the opposing goalkeeper after darting behind the enemy lines too quickly, he at least showed composure with his finish.

If Werner can maintain his level of performance against Armenia, Chelsea will definitely be helped a lot and the fans will definitely start thinking about not nagging Werner anymore.
