One of the rules that have been relaxed is the dine-in service. This provision is stipulated in the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 39 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Restrictions on Community Activities at Level 4, Level 3, and Level 2 Coronavirus Disease 2019 in the Java and Bali Regions.

Through this instruction, the Government imposed a trial of relaxation for dine-in. While the trial applies to places to eat in Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya.

“Can receive dine-in with a maximum capacity of 50 percent, one table for a maximum of two people and a meal time of 60 minutes by following the health protocols set by the Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, and Ministry of Health,” reads the provisions in Minister of Home Affairs Number 39 of 2021.

In addition, visitors and restaurant employees are required to use the PeduliLindung application for screening before entering. So that the situation can be monitored and suppress the spread of Covid-19

Areas Outside the Test Area

Meanwhile, for areas that are not included in the trial area, places to eat, whether restaurants, restaurants, or cafes that are in a building or enclosed space in a separate location, are only allowed to provide delivery or take away services. Places to eat in this category are not allowed to serve dine-in.

For food stalls, street vendors, hawker stalls and so on, they are allowed to open until 21.00. This category of dining venues can accept a maximum of 50 percent of customers and apply a 60-minute dine-in.

Meanwhile, restaurants, restaurants, or cafes that open services in open areas are allowed to operate until 21.00 and have a capacity of 50 percent for visitors. In addition, one table is occupied by a maximum of two people and the meal time is 60 minutes.

“Technical rules will be regulated by the local government,” said the provision.

Regarding this violation, the Government will take persuasive efforts. But if it is ignored, Luhut threatens to take firm steps.
