Guillermo del Toro’s Horror Anthology Series Reveals New Cast, Director, and Title – 1NEWS

Via account Twitter them, Netflix has just announced that the production process of an anthology horror series project Cabinet of Curiosities belongs to the Oscar-winning filmmaker, Guillermo del Toro has officially started. In addition, the streamer has also revealed the cast, writers, and directors who have signed on for the project.

The series has currently enrolled 14 actors to join the series including Oscar winner, F. Murray Abraham (Thir13en Ghosts), alumni The Walking Dead; Andrew Lincoln, Ben Barnes (Shadow and Bone), and Tim Blake Nelson (Watchmen). Joining them are Elpidia Carrillo, Essie Davis, Hannah Galway, Crispin Glover, Demetrius Grosse, David Hewlett, Luke Roberts, Sebastian Roché, Glynn Turman, and Peter Weller.

Project Cabinet of Curiosities Guillermo del Toro’s (previously titled Guillermo del Toro Presents 10 After Midnight) is described as a collection of different stories full of action and grisly. The project was created and executive produced by del Toro, who also serves as co-showrunner.

The series’ directorial lineup consists of Panos Cosmatos, Jennifer Kent, Vincenzo Natali, Ana Lily Amirpour, Catherine Hardwicke, Guillermo Navarro, David Prior, and Keith Thomas, with Cosmatos, Kent, and Natali also writing the single episode. Other writers include Haley Z. Boston, Regina Corrado, David S. Goyer, Lee Patterson, Aaron Stewart-Ahn, and Mika Watkins.

The series is an unprecedented and genre-defining collection of stories meant to challenge our traditional notions of horror. From gruesome to magical, gothic to grotesque or spooky classics, these eight equally sophisticated and sinister stories (including two of del Toro’s originals) will be brought to life by a team of writers and directors handpicked by del Toro.
