Crazybola.com – Chelsea won 3-0 over Aston Villa in the Premier League matchday 4 of the 2021-2022 season last night, Romelu Lukaku and Mateo Kovacic recorded historic goals in their careers at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea won 3-0 at home to Aston Villa in a match held at Stamford Bridge on Saturday (11/9). The three winning goals for Thomas Tuchel’s squad were scored by Romelu Lukaku (’15 and 90+3) and Mateo Kovacic’s goal (’49).
What is interesting to note is that both Chelsea goals against Aston Villa, not because this was only the winning goal, but also three historic goals for the two goalscorers!
The first was Romelu Lukaku’s goal in the 15th minute, a goal that was created thanks to an assist from Mateo Kovacic for Lukaku, the Belgian bomber fired a shot that hit the Villa goal after successfully outwitting Axel Tuanzebe. The ball shot under goalkeeper Jed Steer and into the net! This is Romelu Lukaku’s first goal at Stamford Bridge! Score 1-0 Chelsea!
In addition to the first goal at Stamford Bridge, this match against Villa was also Lukaku’s second appearance at this Chelsea home stadium after last playing for the Blues in 2011-2014.
During his tenure in 2011-2014, Lukaku only played 10 times for Chelsea and had never scored a goal, home or away. And now that he has rejoined Chelsea, Lukaku has already played twice at this historic stadium, the first on 21 August and tonight the second and finally scored!
Lukaku is also recorded as always scoring for his team in the last 6 Premier League matches, the goal against Aston Villa was his seventh goal this season.
And second was Mateo Kovacic’s goal! Tuanzebe was blocked by Lukaku and eventually sent the ball to Mings, but Mings sent the ball back to goalkeeper Steer! Unfortunately his shot was too weak, Kovacic chased and kicked the ball before it could be reached by Steer! Score 2-0 Chelsea!
And what’s interesting about this goal is, just like Lukaku, this is Mateo Kovacic’s first goal at Stamford Bridge too! In the 15th minute he provided the assist for Lukaku’s first goal at Stamford Bridge and in the 49th minute it was Kovacic’s turn who also scored his first goal at the Blues headquarters!
Since being loaned for the first time in 2018 from Real Madrid, then made permanent by Chelsea, Mateo Kovacic has played 93 times, and this was his first goal for the club and also at the club’s headquarters.
Lukaku not only scored one goal, but two goals after in injury time he still had time to score a brace and make it 3-0. Azpilicueta was free to move on the right and sent the ball accurately at Lukaku. Lukaku’s first touch and followed by a powerful shot past Steer and into the near post! The match ended with the final score 3-0 for Chelsea’s victory!
