Sociologist at Udayana University (Unud), Wahyu Budi Nugroho, responded to the question of the opening of malls and tourist attractions in Bali in the midst of implementing PPKM level 4.
He asked the public to be aware of the threat of a third wave of Covid-19.

“From the phenomenon of revenge travel (increase in tourists) after the opening of malls and several tourist attractions that should be watched out for from this phenomenon is the threat of the third wave of Covid-19,” said Wahyu in Denpasar, Bali, Saturday (11/9/2021), as quoted from Between.

He said when in public places that were prone to crowds, the public still had to be aware of the emergence of the third wave of Covid-19. Especially with the new Mu variant which first appeared in Colombia.

“When it comes to the phenomenon of revenge travel, the countries that initially popularized the term revenge travel are those who have vaccinated more than 50 percent of their population. What about us in Indonesia? Well, this is actually the concern of many parties,” he said.
