Bhayangkara FC coach, Paul Munster, had a special reason for not playing Renan Silva from the start of the match against Arema FC in the second week of BRI Liga 1 2021/2022, Sunday (12/9/2021). According to Paul Munster, it is purely a tactical necessity.

In the match which was held at Pakansari Stadium, Paul Munster played a 4-3-3 scheme. That scenario made Renan Silva eliminated from the starting position at Bhayangkara FC.

Bhayangkara FC had taken the lead through the action of Ezechiel N’Douassel in the 65th minute. However, the advantage only lasted until the 72nd minute after Dendi Santono scored the equalizer.

Six minutes later, Bhayangkara FC had to play with 10 people. TM Ichsan got a second yellow card so he had to end the game first.

The situation finally made Paul Munster enter Renan Silva in the 80th minute to replace Dendy Sulistyawan. However, not many changes can be given so that the match ended 1-1.

“It was purely a tactical decision. I don’t care who’s on this team. I prepared a game plan and who can play there will play,” Paul Munster after the game.

“That plan is actually working. I don’t know what to do next,” said Paul Munster.

This draw made Bhayangkara FC move up to third place in the standings with four points. Arema FC is in 12th place in the BRI Liga 1 2021/2022 standings with one point.

Coach Paul Munster was also disappointed with Bhayangkara FC’s 1-1 draw against Arema FC. According to Paul Munster, his team actually had a chance to get full points.

However, the controversial decision taken by the referee was detrimental to Bhayangkara FC. An example is when Ezechiel N’Douassel’s second goal annulled which smelled of offside, but authorized Arema’s goal who was also in a similar situation.

“We played really well and scored the first goal. A few minutes later conceded. What we are disappointed about is the decision of the match officials, the referee,” said Paul Munster.

“We accepted our second goal was disallowed for offside. Likewise with Ichsan who got a red card. But Arema’s goal was also offside. But why not get the same decision,” said Munster.

Bhayangkara FC should not be too long in disappointment. The club nicknamed The Guardians must immediately focus on the next match in the BRI Liga 1 2021/2022.

Bhayangkara FC will face Madura United in the third week match which will be held on Saturday (18/9/2021). This is Bhayangkara FC’s momentum to return to winning ways.

Bhayangkara FC has a positive trend against Madura United. In nine meetings, Bhayangkara FC has won five wins, two draws, and two defeats. (
