1NEWS – Even though it has only entered its fourth week, the 2021/2022 Premier League competition is already tight. Several teams tackled each other and some of the best strikers showed their skills to contribute many classy goals.
The Premier League is home to some of the world’s best strikers. That means there is fierce competition for the title of top scorer. Still have a long way. However, the early signs look very promising with a number of names that really stand out.
So, we’ve taken a look at the top 5 favorites for the Premier League “golden shoe” this season:
5. Michail Antonio (West Ham United)
Michail Antonio has been used in various positions at West Ham United, including at right-back and right-wing. And, currently plays as a striker.
Antonio joined West Ham from Nottingham Forest in 2015. The 31-year-old is playing the best football of his professional career at the moment. In four appearances, he has scored four goals and provided three assists.

4. Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)
Mohamed Salah will never be sidelined from the list of favorites to win the golden boot in this competition. The Egyptian has won the prestigious award twice.
Since joining Liverpool from AS Roma in 2017, Salah has been a sensation. The 29-year-old has made 207 appearances so far for Liverpool, scoring 128 goals and providing 49 assists. Salah has made four league appearances this season, scoring three goals and providing two assists.
3. Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur)
Harry Kane has been heavily linked with a major move to Manchester City this summer. However, Tottenham Hotspur insisted on refusing and Kane later announced his decision to stay with the club, at least until the end of the season.
The England international and captain has made two starts in the Premier League this season, and is yet to score. But, based on his past reputation, Kane is just waiting for the moment, and the goals will flow.
2. Romelu Lukaku (Chelsea)
Chelsea now have one of the best strikers in the world in their squad. He is Romelu Lukaku, who after two seasons played brilliantly with Inter Milan. Now back to Stamford Bridge.
Of course Lukaku is no stranger to the atmosphere of the Premier League. He has been in the history books of Chelsea, West Bromwich Albion, Everton and Manchester United. The Belgian national team player is a guarantee of a goal. Lukaku has scored goals for every club he represents at a very consistent pace.
The 28-year-old is enjoying an excellent start to his second spell with Chelsea. In three league appearances, he has scored three goals. Most recently two goals against Aston Villa.

1. Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United)
All eyes are on Cristiano Ronaldo, when he started for Manchester United against Newcastle United. With two goals to mark his return.
Despite his far from youthful age of 36, Ronaldo remains a world class goalscorer and will aim to win the Premier League golden boot once again. He previously won the award for his performances during the 2007/2008 season.
