1NEWS – Arsenal finally picked up their first Premier League win of the season thanks to a narrow 1-0 win against Norwich, playing in front of thousands of fans at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners started the game brilliantly, dominating possession for most of the first half. But Norwich created the better chances. However, neither team managed to make more than one shot on target until halftime.

The match gradually turned fierce in the second half as both teams struggled to score on goal. And Arsenal took until the 66th minute to finally break into the opponent’s goal.

A magnificent moment inside the Norwich box ended with the ball at the feet of Aubameyang, who scored from close range to secure Arsenal’s first three points of the season.

Aaron Ramsdale – 7/10

Ramsdale made just one save throughout the 90 minutes and showed great ability on the ball.

Takehiro Tomiyasu – 8/10

Tomiyasu is excellent in aerial duels and displays brilliant composure with the ball at his feet. He also came close to scoring a thrilling volley, but fitness problems meant he had to be sent off in the 62nd minute.

Ben White – 7/10

The centre-back showed some good build-up play from the back. He was calm and careful in defence, in short White handled Norwich’s attack quite well.

Gabriel Magalhaes – 7/10

Magalhaes appeared solid in the heart of Arsenal’s defense. He showed excellent positional awareness throughout the game. The centre-back also showed off his outstanding ball skills as he completed 45 passes with 94% accuracy.

Kieran Tierney – 7/10

Slowly becoming Arsenal’s most dependable player, Tierney provided another solid performance for the Gunners. Although it didn’t help much in attack, Tierney handled his defensive duties very well. Tierney finished the game with two key passes, two shots and won three of four duels.

Albert Sambi Lokonga – 8/10

Highly effective and intelligent in his passing, Lokonga already looks like a good prospect for the Gunners. The midfielder won eight defensive duels and managed to complete 45 passes with an accuracy of 87%.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles – 6/10

Maitland-Niles filled in at right-back but failed to make a real impact. Niles does set 80% pass accuracy and two key operands, but sometimes it’s too easy to skip.

Nicolas Pepe – 8/10

Pepe was arguably Arsenal’s best player on the pitch, especially in the second half. He looked threatening on the left flank throughout the game. Unfortunately he didn’t score, only Pepe provided an assist for Aubameyang.

Martin Odegaard – 7.5/10

Odegaard displayed proficient reading of the game and continued to play with neat and accurate passes, but what stood out was the youngster doing his defensive job well and moving the ball smoothly throughout the 90 minutes.

Bukayo Saka – 7/10

Saka found himself in a good position to score multiple times throughout the match, but failed to score. Saka finished the game with six shots, four key passes and an 81% pass success rate.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 8/10

Aubameyang made some good moves behind the Norwich defense and caused problems for their centre-backs. Despite being alone, he scored the decisive goal to secure his team’s first win of the new Premier League season.

Substitute:

Emile Smith-Rowe – 6/10

Smith-Rowe had some good moments in attack after coming on. But could not take advantage of the dominance of Arsenal’s possession of the ball.

Thomas Partey – 7/10

Coming on for Lokonga in the 62nd minute, Partey did well and cleared Norwich’s attack with ease.

Cedric Soares – 6/10

Soares replaced Maitland-Niles in the 82nd minute for Arsenal and did not have enough time to make a real impact on the game.
