Mad Max Prequel, Furiosa Release Schedule Postponed by Warner Bros. – 1NEWS

After making fans happy because of the spinoff project from Mad Max: Fury Road entitled Furiosa has got an official release date, now Warner Bros. is said to have made the decision to push back the release date of the prequel film. The film has now moved to May 24, 2024, almost a year backwards from its previous release date, June 23, 2023.

Furiosa described as a film project that will delve into the origins of the unique character previously played by Charlize Theron (The Old Guard) before appearing in the film. Mad Max: Fury Road. The film will star the Golden Globe winner, Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queen’s Gambit), Chris Hemsworth (Avengers: Endgame), and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman, Watchmen, Candyman).

The film will follow the youth story of a tough female warrior, who was first introduced in Fury Road. The prequel will explore the character’s origins long before he became part of Immortan Joe’s War Rig crew and joined Mad Max Rockatansky.

Project production process Furiosa is expected to start early next year in Australia, but that will still depend on many factors. Of course, one of them is the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the work schedules of the main characters.

Australia’s state minister, Gladys Berejiklian previously said the project would be “the biggest film ever made in Australia.” The prequel/spinoff project even received financial incentives from the federal and state governments to secure production in the country. Berejiklian added that the production would provide employment to “more than 850 local jobs” and would generate “350 million dollars for the economy.”
