1NEWS, The club strengthened by Syahrian Abimanyu, namely Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) managed to win the 2021-2022 Malaysian Super League. He also became the first Indonesian soccer player to win this competition.
JDT itself has confirmed the title early after recording a 3-0 victory over Sri Pahang on 27 August. The achievement of the title made the club nicknamed the Southern Tigers win the Malaysian Super League championship trophy in 8 consecutive seasons. JDT’s glory brought its own blessings to Syahrian Abimanyu.
He is the first Indonesian footballer to win the prestigious title. The Malaysian Super League trophy record has allowed him to surpass the achievements of his predecessors, namely Bambang Pamungkas and Ellie Eboi, who helped Selangor win the Premier League in the 2005 season.
Now that his name has soared, Syahrian Abhimanyu is under the spotlight of Vocket FC. According to Vocket FC, Syahrian Abimanyu’s presence also benefits in terms of the number of Super League views that are broadcast live on the YouTube platform.
Based on records of matches involving JDT, Penang and Sabah, 60 percent of them were spectators from Indonesia.
Syahrian Abhimanyu was instrumental in JDT’s eighth consecutive title. He recorded appearances twice against Sabah FC (August 8) and Petaling Jaya City (August 21) after returning from a loan period at Australian League club Newcastle Jets. The 22-year-old then sent a short message with a trophy emoticon indicating the champion.
“I don’t know if I will get a medal or not, but it seems that there are no rules for how many matches to play,” said Syahrian Abimanyu to the editor of INDOSPORT sports news, Saturday (28/8/21).
Besides Syahrian Abimanyu, there are two other Indonesian players who are also competing in the Malaysian Super League this season, both namely Ryuji Utomo (Penang) and Saddil Ramdani (Sabah). Ryuji helped Penang to third place in the Malaysian Super league while Saddil scored 3 goals in 17 matches.
