In the era of social media like today, the term influencer alias influencer is no longer a foreign thing to the ear. Usually an influencer is someone who has a big influence on their followers on social media, including celebrities, artists, actors and other content creators. But now, influencers come not only from among humans, you know. Rozy, a virtual influencer created using artificial intelligence (AI) recently made a scene on social media.
Rozy is an influencer created from AI who is 22 years old and has recently been making a scene in the South Korean social media world. As reported by Allkpop, Rozy was created by Sidus Studio X and has continued to appear on social media as a real person since December 2020. Thanks to her beauty, Rozy has received many sponsors and she is now making a lot of money.
“We have advertised twice this week alone and now we have eight exclusive contracts. He has secured more than 100 sponsors now, but we haven’t been able to process it,” said Sidus Studio X CEO Baek Seung Yeop as quoted by World of Buzz, Tuesday, September 14, 2021.
“We have reached our goal profit now, and I think Rozy will be able to make more than 1 billion won (approximately more than Rp. 12 billion) by the end of this year,” continued Seung Yeop.
According to Korea.net, Rozy was created by combining the looks most favored by millennials, with nearly 800 facial expressions and gestures extracted from an actor through 3D modeling technology.
According to Sidus Studio X, in the first three months Rozy’s Instagram account was running, no one noticed that she was a 3D virtual model. In addition, the studio also explained that Rozy’s physical appearance did not refer to a particular model.
Seung Yeop said, the popularity of virtual influencers made of AI can avoid privacy scandals. Then, it is also not limited by space and time because the location and scenery contained in the photo can be created via computer graphics.
Besides, virtual humans cannot get sick or grow old. Hence, they can remain active for a long period of time or even forever.
This virtual human isn’t just a potential replacement for influencers alone, as Baek even plans to expand Rozy’s scope into movies, dramas, and other entertainment shows.
The studio also shared many beautiful portraits of Rozy via an Instagram @rozy.gram. There, many photos and videos of Rozy posing like a real person influencer. From the images shared, it can be seen that Rozy’s figure is very real, so it is difficult to distinguish whether she is a real person or just a virtual one created with AI.
