Ivan Carlos was injured when Persela Lamongan beat Persipura Jayapura. The condition of the Brazilian player has not recovered 100 percent.
In the second week of the BRI Liga 1 2021 match at the Wibawa Mukti Stadium, Karawang, Friday (10/9/2021), Persela won 1-0 over Persipura. Ivan Carlos scored the winning goal in that match.
Ivan Carlos took advantage of Akbar Hermawan’s long pass to break the Black Pearl’s goal from inside the penalty box.
Ivan Carlos could not play the full game in that match. He was injured and had to be replaced by Iman Budi Hernandi in the 52nd minute.
Persela coach, Iwan Setiawan, revealed the condition of Ivan Carlos three days after the match. Ivan Carlos has been able to follow the training.
“Thank God the training was good, Carlos has followed all the training programs to completion. Reports from the physiotherapist, we said that Carlos is not 100 percent yet, but in fact Carlos can follow the program until it runs out,” said Iwan when contacted by reporters, Monday (13/9).

“Carlos has a groin strain or inner thigh muscle, due to an overstretch. God willing, this is an old injury, bro, it’s not serious,” said Ardiyan Angga.
Persela will face Persita in the 2021 Liga 1 continued match. The duel will be staged Friday (17/9) afternoon WIB. Persela and Persita will both be chasing a second win in the BRI Liga 1 2021.
