Dream – The government still prohibits children under 12 years old from entering a number of places. Be it tourist destinations, malls, or restaurants.

Many parents complain about this prohibition. They reasoned that their son could not enter even though he came with his father and mother.

Responding to this problem, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, said the Government agreed to provide discretion (waivers). However, this discretion only applies to children under 12 years old who are invited by their parents.

“With the Kemenkomarves and the Ministry of Health, it was discussed. The result was the granting of discretion to each of the families,” said Sandiaga in the Weekly Press Briefing.

Sandiaga said the provisions submitted by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, as the coordinator of the Java-Bali PPKM were not rigid. As long as the child comes with his parents who have been fully vaccinated, then he can enter tourist attractions, restaurants, or malls.

“As long as the health protocols are strictly adhered to and disciplined, PeduliLindung is installed, implementing CHSE, all staff have been vaccinated, then we have one or two discretions,” he said.
