Aston Villa silenced, Son: We played without fear

1NEWS, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Son Heung-min inspired his team’s 2-1 win over Aston Villa in the 2021-2022 English Premier League, Sunday (3/10) yesterday, and stated that they played without fear.

“This win gave us a lot of good energy and the way we played today was different. We need that especially before the international break. It feels good to win this match,” Son said Reuters.

“We are playing differently than a few weeks ago. We played without fear and enjoyed it, even when we lost the ball.

Previously Spurs had to suffer three consecutive defeats in the league, where in total they conceded nine goals and only managed to score one goal. Making Nuno Espirito Santo’s troops freefall to rank eight.

However, the South Korean midfielder’s relentless scintillating performances kept the team in high spirits as they tried to bounce back from a slump in September.

“The last three games were defeats we didn’t want and confidence dropped but we can bounce back,” Son explained.

The hosts took the lead in the first half through Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s goal, but were equalized in the second half through Ollie Watkins. However, the draw did not last long after Matt Targett scored an own goal for the Spurs victory.

Son also revealed that the key to his team’s victory this time was to continue the same mindset as before the international break.

“All the players are experienced, want to win and are responsible. We have to keep this mindset. When we win it’s not everything, it’s a long season and we start from zero again for the next game.”[]
