“Despite being in the second tier, Stoke City also have future players. This is his profile.”

1NEWS – Stoke City starlet Emre Tezgel compared to Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham. It was because of his talent and ability. In fact, Tezgel has also won the same award as Bellingham.

The 17-year-old’s progress to become a football star in the future began to be seen clearly when he defended the England U-17 national team in the Syrenka Cup. He scored four goals and was named Player of the Tournament aka following in Bellingham’s footsteps in 2019.

At club level, Tezgel is being prepared to enter the Stoke main squad, although there are those who regret his great talent having to go through his teenage years at the Championship Division club.

Last season, Tezgel made his debut at Stoke City Under-18s and managed to score seven goals in 23 games in his first full season. And, this season Tezgel seems to be more productive. Evidently, recently he scored an impressive hat-trick against Liverpool U-18s.

“He’s a Harry Kane-type centre-forward. His main advantage is in finishing and that’s what a good centre-forward has,” said Potters Academy director Gareth Owen, reported by The Sun.

“He plays like a seasoned pro, pulls in from corners, gives a little push to centre-backs and makes space. It’s great to have that ability at his age,” added Owen.

It’s not just the U18 Premier League that has Tezgel ahead. At the start of the month, he was part of England Under-17s competing in the Syrenka Cup. He played all three games. And, an unforgettable one came against Portugal in the semifinals.

With the Three Lions losing 0-1, Tezgel came off the bench and scored twice to take England to the final. He scored two more goals in the final against the Netherlands, although in the end his team lost 2–3.

However, for now, the goals that are in Tezgel’s mind can only be presented at the junior level. “Personally, I can say I did a good job (last season). But, I want to score more goals next season,” said Tezgel.

“I have played in a higher age group all my life. But, I can say that it is very difficult to go under 18. It took me a while to get used to the physical challenges. When your pace alone is not enough as a striker, you You have to use your mind in the final third of the pitch,” said Tezgel.

“Next season I want us to finish top of the league and I want to score more goals and push myself for the next age group. I want to play football at the highest level in international leagues and tournaments,” concluded Tezgel.
