Chelsea tactician Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Thiago Silva will play for Brazil in October’s internationals.
The 37-year-old soccer player was one of the players called by Tite to defend the samba team in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. His presence is expected to add to the solid defense of the Brazilian national team.
Thiago Silva will indeed have an international match earlier this month with his country, but Thomas Tuchel apparently as a coach is a little reluctant to let him play for the national team. The reason is, towards the end of the international break, Chelsea will face Brentford in the 2021/22 Premier League.
Thus, the former PSG defender will be absent when the West London football club plays in the eighth week of the Premier League which takes place at the Brentford Community Stadium on Saturday (16/10). Because, after defending the Brazilian national team he had to undergo quarantine before returning to strengthen the Blues.
No doubt, Thomas Tuchel as a coach can’t do anything when one of his experienced players has to strengthen the national team.
Speaking to the media, the German football coach said Thiago Silva would go to strengthen Brazil. Then Thomas Tuchel said his players would return to West London when Chelsea played Brentford.
Thomas Tuchel explained this is what happened in the 2021 international break. He said whether he liked it or not, he couldn’t do anything. The coach explained that the player will undergo quarantine after returning to defend his country. According to him, such a thing is not a solution. However, he as a tactician couldn’t help it. Because, Thiago Silva will get a suspension from FIFA if he doesn’t want to defend his country.
For information, the role of the defender is arguably quite important for Chelsea’s defense in the Premier League competition and other events.
Thiago Silva himself has played in 7 matches this season. 5 of them Thomas Tuchel gave him playing time in the Premier League by scoring 1 goal. If the player misses against Brentford, it will be an opportunity for another defender to show his quality to the coach.
