Barcelona gets good news from former players

Barcelona is preparing to bring in two players in the winter transfer market. The Catalan team also received good news from one of them who is also a former Blaugrana youth player. – Barca’s target player, Dani Olmo, claimed to want to return to Camp Nou. He even ignored the interest of the Spanish giants, Real Madrid, who also intended to sign him.

According to Catalan media reports, El Nacional, as reported The Hard Tackle, Barca got a big boost from Olmo. The 23-year-old striker, who is currently still at RB Leipzig, would rather return to the Camp Nou, rather than feel the smell of competition at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Olmo is known as one of the best young strikers in world football today. Previously, he left Barcelona when he was 16 years old to join Dinamo Zagreb. The Spain international then showed rapid development during his time with the Croatian capital club, before finally joining Leipzig in 2020.

Over the past few years, Olmo’s career has skyrocketed, where he managed to record 12 goals and 14 assists in 64 appearances. No wonder he was then glimpsed by a number of top European clubs, where Madrid and Barca are two of them.

The Blaugrana themselves had tried to bring Olmo back to Camp Nou during the summer transfer window in July-August, until finally they ran out of time to secure the services of the former player. However, the failure to get Olmo didn’t stop there, and Barca were again preparing to chase him in January.

Barcelona’s desire to bring in Olmo is quite understandable, because the Catalan team had to make improvements in their attack and midfield, so the versatile Olmo became the target of his former club. Meanwhile, it also makes sense if Madrid joins the hunt for Olmo, because the Spanish capital club also has the same problem as their eternal rival.

Currently, Madrid only relies on Luka Modric and Toni Kroos who are already 30 years old. That is why, Los Blancos had to carry out a mature succession plan for the two stars, including the arrival of Olmo. As for the alternative players currently at the Bernabeu – minus Eden Hazard and Gareth Bale who are also not young anymore and Marco Asensio whose future is unclear, Madrid must add one winger.

That is why Olmo is an option for Los Merengues, even though it looks like they will now be beaten by Barcelona in the hunt for this player.

Still according El Nacional, Olmo admitted that he prefers to return to Camp Nou rather than defending Real Madrid, or even Manchester United – who also reportedly glanced at Olmo. Although it remains to be seen whether Madrid will really be defeated by Barca in this case.
