Persik Kediri management agreed to end the collaboration with coach Joko Susilo at the end of the first series of BRI Liga 1 this season. Until now, Persik still hasn’t decided on a new coach to replace Joko Susilo.
“Not yet. We haven’t decided on a new coach yet. We are looking for the right person to fill the position,” said Anwar Basalamah, Media Officer of Persik Kediri, to Bola.com, Monday (4/10/2021).
However, Basalamah stated that the new coach will have to comply with the regulations set by PT LIB. “According to regulations, we have to find an AFC Pro licensed coach. Because that’s the standard rule for League 1 clubs,” he said.
When asked whether the new figure will be a local or foreign coach, Basalamah also did not dare to reveal. “Later, Persik management will hold a meeting and discussion with the coaching team. Is the new coach local or foreign, “he said.
Handled by Assistant Coach
Meanwhile, continued Basalamah, for the time being the control of Persik Kediri’s training is held by the assistant coach Alfiat. “While waiting for the second series, coach Alfiat’s routine training activities are held with other staff,” he said.
If you look at the remaining AFC Pro certified local coaches who are still unemployed, there are several names that Persik can use.
They include Liestiadi, Hanafing, Emral Abus, Wolfgang Pikal, Rudy Eka Priyambada, Indra Sjafri (Director of Technology for the Indonesian National Team), and Yeyen Tumena.
Haven’t Reached The Target
Persik Kediri officially ended the cooperative relationship with Joko Susilo. The sixth week of the BRI Liga 1 2021/2022 match between Persik Kediri and PSS Sleman at the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Soreang, Sunday (3/10/2021), was the last match for the man who is familiarly called Getuk.
Persik Kediri president, Abdul Hakim Befagih, said the management had a number of considerations to end the collaboration with the former Arema FC architect. One of them is the evaluation of Persik’s first five matches in the BRI Liga 1 2021/2022.
According to Hakim, the former assistant coach of the Indonesian national team has not yet reached the target set by Persik Kediri’s management. This is the basis for the management to stop the cooperation.
“Today is the last match for Coach Joko Susilo to accompany the team,” said Hakim Bafagih in the club’s official release.
