“Messi, Neymar, Mbappe are still not guaranteed…”

1NEWS – Achraf Hakimi, Danilo, are two players who were bought by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for a hefty price. Meanwhile, several world-class players joined PSG on a free transfer, including Gianluigi Donnarumma, Wijnaldum, Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos.

Despite all the signings PSG want to strengthen their squad even further.

Moreover, the team made by Pochettino is still far from perfect. They accepted their first defeat in the last Ligue 1 matchday, where they lost 0-2 against Rennes. They were also held to a 1-1 draw by Club Brugge on the first match day of the UEFA Champions League.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at the 5 players that PSG should have brought in the January transfer window:

5. Theo Hernandez

Juan Bernat and Kurzawa often appear giddy, that’s why PSG desperately need a quality left-back for the first squad.

Theo Hernandez is young and full of energy, which makes him a vital figure on the left wing. Hernandez’s one goal and four assists in Serie A this season is a testament to the player’s attacking ability.

4. Dominik Szoboszlai

After proving his worth at Salzburg, Szoboszlai moved to Leipzig in 2021 and quickly developed into a valuable asset for the club. This season alone the talented Hungarian has bagged two goals and two assists.

What makes him an attractive target for PSG is Szoboszlai’s versatility. The forward can play on both flanks and even in the middle at times.

3. Antonio Rudiger

Despite having Sergio Ramos, Marquinhos and Kimpembe at the back, PSG still need to add strength to the heart of their defense by signing formidable Chelsea defender Rudiger.

The German defender, who played a key role in last season’s UEFA Champions League triumph, has yet to renew his contract. Temporary
Ramos is not getting any younger and Kimpembe is yet to prove himself on the biggest stage. This is why Rudiger is a perfect fit for PSG.

2. Paul Pogba

Pogba’s ability to set the tempo of the game from midfield makes him one of the best players in his position. The midfielder started the 2021-22 campaign in style, bagging seven assists in seven Premier League games.

Pogba was an important player both at Juventus and now at Manchester United. Pogba has also been an integral part of the French national team that won the 2018 World Cup.

It goes without saying that Pogba will add to the pounding power in PSG’s midfield, especially with a player like Marco Verratti alongside him.

Like Rudiger, Pogba’s contract is until the end of the current season. The French midfielder has yet to renew and may be available for a cheap price in the January transfer window.

1. Mohamed Salah

Undoubtedly, Mo Salah is one of the most respected attackers by the opposing defense.

This season alone Salah has scored nine goals and provided three assists in all competitions, with six of his goals coming in the Premier League. Salah’s attacking prowess makes him a force to be reckoned with on the right flank.

It is not impossible that Salah will join PSG in the January transfer window, because the 29-year-old’s contract expires in 2023 and the prospect of the Egyptian joining Messi and Neymar at PSG is very tempting.

With Mbappe yet to renew his contract with PSG, Salah could be an ideal and worthy replacement for the club.
