“The main boss of Los Blancos responded to the French player’s statement”

1NEWS – Real Madrid failed to sign Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain in August, but Florentino Perez assures Los Blancos fans will soon get some good news about the former Monaco man in January 2022.

Mbappe’s contract with Les Parisiens runs until the summer of 2022 and the France international will be free to negotiate his future with any team from January 1.

“In January we will have news about Mbappe,” Perez told El Debate.

“We hope that by January 1 everything will be resolved.”

However, shortly after his statement, Perez clarified what he really meant.

“My words were misinterpreted. What I said was that we will have to wait until next year to hear from him, always with respect to PSG with whom we have a good relationship,” he said as quoted by RMC.

Perez also discussed the renovation of the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu project and offered his vision of the Real Madrid pitch.

“This will be a meeting point for the whole city of Madrid,” added Perez.

“There is no stadium like that and a stadium in the center of a big city like ours.”

The 74-year-old man also revealed that the club he leads is focusing on restoring the club’s economic condition which has suffered a lot of losses due to Covid-19.

“(We have gone from) 900 million euros (revenue) to more than 600 million euros,” said Perez.

“It will probably take about three years to get back to the numbers we got before the pandemic.”
