Member of Commission I of the DPR RI, the PDI-P faction, Effendi Simbolon, revealed the time and date options that President Jokowi would choose in announcing the new TNI Commander to replace Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto.
Effendi said President Jokowi’s first option could be to announce it before October 7, 2021, this is based on the schedule for closing the trial period.
Later, if Jokowi takes this option, then the DPR RI is prepared to carry out a fit and proper test.
“If our schedule is on Thursday 7th, we have entered the closing of the trial period, therefore if for example tonight the President wants to convey a surpres (President’s Letter) to us, maybe tomorrow then a plenary session will be carried out to be read out and then submitted to Commission I to be carried out. fit and proper test,” said Effendi in Apa Kabar Indonesia Malam, quoted by Hops.id on Wednesday, October 6, 2021.
As for the next option, Effendi said, if President Jokowi does not immediately announce it, then the House of Representatives Commission I will not extend the trial period.
So it means that the presidential decree will be read out at the Opening Plenary Meeting which is planned to be held at the end of the position of the TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto or October 31, 2021 to be exact.
“But if, for example, the President doesn’t deliver on October 7 (October 2021) and we don’t ask for an extension of the trial period, then the presidential decree will be read out at the opening plenary session on October 31, meaning that it means that Marshal Hadi is approaching the retirement period,” he added.
There is a possibility in early November 2021
Meanwhile, a member of Commission I of the Golkar Faction, Christina Aryani, confirmed that the surpres of the TNI Commander had not yet been received by parliament.
That is why he believes that Jokowi will send the presidential decree after the recess period between October 8 and 31, 2021.
“Yes [dikirim sesudah masa reses]. October 8-31 recess,” said Christina, citing Kumparan.
Christina stressed that it is unlikely that Jokowi will send today’s presidential decree to the DPR.
Although there is still one day of trial tomorrow, Thursday (7/10), he considered it impossible for the TNI Commander to carry out the fit and proper test before the recess. At least at the earliest and at the same time at the latest, the surpres was sent in early November.
“Early November. Difficult (surpres sent today and then on trial tomorrow). Because there is a process to schedule the schedule, it’s not last minute,” he said.
