Based on the calculations of the Saudi Astronomer Khaled al-Zaqaq, the holy months of Ramadan 1451 and 1452 Hijri are predicted to fall in 2030 AD.

Where, in that year, Muslims will celebrate the month of fasting twice in one year. Quoted by Al Arabiya, this can happen because the Islamic Hijri calendar is based on the lunar cycle, in contrast to the Gregorian or AD calendar which marks the Earth’s journey around the Sun.

The last phenomenon occurred in 1997, and before that in 1965. After 2030, it is estimated that the phenomenon will occur again in 2063.

In 1451 H, the month of Ramadan will begin January 5, 2030, while Ramadan 1452 H will begin December 26, 2030. This will result in Muslims fasting for about 36 days in total in 2030, i.e. 30 full days for 1451 H and about six days for the year 1452.
