David Rumakiek became the fourth player recruited by Persib Bandung to add strength to navigate Liga 1 for the 2022-2023 season.
Before David Rumakiek, Persib first brought in Rachmat Irianto, Ricky Kambuaya, and Ciro Alves.
The certainty of David’s joining to Persib was conveyed through the club’s official website and social media on Sunday (17/4/2022) morning WIB.
Then, how long is David Rumakiek’s contract at Persib Bandung?
Reporting from the official website of Persib Bandung, David is contracted for more than one year with details of a contract for one season and an option for an extension the following year.
Director of PT Persib Bandung Dignified Teddy Tjahjono hopes that David can continue to grow.
“PT Persib Bandung Dignity hereby announces that it has established a partnership with David Rumakiek. The young defender from Papua has agreed to defend the Blue Prince with a contract duration of more than one year,” Persib said in a statement.
“1+1 contract. The projection is for the left-back position because there are not many players who have the ability and are dominant on the left foot,” said Teddy Tjahjono.
Persib revealed that David was indeed brought in to fill the back line post, precisely at the left-back position, which requires additional ammunition.
David Rumakiek was also plotted as a replacement for Ardi Idrus who left after four years with Persib (since 2018).
Meanwhile, Persib Bandung got David Rumakiek from Persipura Jayapura, a club that will compete in League 2 next season.
Last season, David Rumakiek appeared in 31 Black Pearl matches in Liga 1 with one assist contribution.
