“He’s a goalkeeper and he’s still young.”

1NEWS – Persib Bandung again brought in players from Persipura Jayapura. After previously bringing in David Rumakiek, a potential young defender this time, Maung Bandung added ammunition to the goalkeeper position by signing Fitrul Dwi Rustapa.

So far, to navigate the upcoming 2022/2023 Liga 1 competition, Persib Bandung has recruited five players, of which Fitrul’s name is the newest.

Fitrul’s brilliant performance from 26 matches for 2,340 minutes with Persipura last season was one of Persib’s considerations in recruiting him for the upcoming competition season.

The goalkeeper from Garut will fill the position left by Muhammad Natshir, who has decided to leave after his contract expires.

The goalkeeper who was born on June 5, 1995 received a one-year cooperation contract with Persib, and of course with the option of a one-year extension.

“The contract is 1+1. Of course this is all on the recommendation of the coaching team to increase strength in the goalkeeper position,” said Director of PT Persib Bandung Dignified, Teddy Tjahjono, quoted from the club’s official website.

The presence of the 26-year-old player is expected to help Persib perform even better next season.
Moreover, his figure as a local man is potential enough to compete with other goalkeepers with a record of 80 saves during the last season.
