The Bali United U-18 team is eyeing the third place in the 2021 International Youth Championship (IYC), the position that will be obtained if they beat the U-20 Indonesia All Star squad in the match at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), Jakarta, Tuesday (19/4).
“We hope to be in third place,” said Bali United U-18 assistant coach Sandhika Pratama in a pre-match press conference in Jakarta, Monday.
Sandhika also emphasized that his team will fight as hard as they can to beat the U-20 Indonesia All Star squad.
Although it is predicted to be difficult, due to the age difference and Indonesia All Star winning 3-0 at the first meeting of the two teams at IYC 2021, Bali United remains confident in the opportunities they have.
Not to mention the bad record of Bali United who came to the IYC 2021 third place fight with the status of a team that always lost in three preliminary matches.
The 2021 U-18 EPA League 1 champion lost 0-5 to Atletico Madrid U-18, 0-3 to U-20 Indonesia All Star and 0-4 to U-18 Barcelona.

“We will give our best. We evaluate all the shortcomings and try to maximize the opportunities in front of goal. Hopefully we will get positive results,” said Sandhika.
Meanwhile, Bali United U-18 defender Kadek Arel Priyatna said that his team learned from the 0-3 defeat to the U-20 Indonesia All Star in the first match.
Bali United, Kadek continued, maximized the rest time to evaluate and prepare.
“Indonesia All Star is a good team. However, we will fight,” said the footballer who was called by coach Shin Tae-yong to undergo the U-19 national team’s training camp (TC) in South Korea.
