Arema FC doesn’t seem to be able to move on from Carlos Fortes because they are being linked with another Portuguese striker, Fabio Fortes.
This rumor spread even louder after coach Eduardo Almeida was caught going down the mountain watching the Portuguese League second tier match, where Fabio Fortes is currently playing.
In line with the leak from the team manager nicknamed Singo Edan, M Ali Rifki who revealed that Carlos Fortes’ replacement was the coach’s choice and had never played in Indonesia.
“Whoever comes, for us the player is definitely needed by the coach. For us, all the players on the team are stars,” said Arema Manager, M Ali Rifki.
Despite the growing rumors, Fabio Fortes has made a story because he has many similarities with Carlos Fortes.
Fabio Fortes and Carlos Fortes were both born and raised in Lisbon, Portugal.
The two are only two years apart, Fabio Fortes was born March 6, 1992, while Carlos Fortes was born November 9, 1994.

Besides having the same background, they also chose the same hairstyle, namely dreadlocks.
In terms of body posture, the two are not much different because they are only 2 cm apart. Fabio Fortes has a height of 186 cm while Carlos Fortes is 188 cm.
When viewed from behind, the two are almost identical. It’s just that Fabio Fortes has a smaller stature than Carlos Fortes who has a sturdy and stocky body.
Regarding careers, both have almost the same journey.
Carlos Fortes started his career as a striker for the Portugal U-20 national team.
But in his journey, he mostly defended Portugal’s second tier club with experience tasting the highest caste of the Romanian League, Moroccan League, Turkey’s third tier and the fourth tier of the Spanish League.
Meanwhile, Fabio Fortes started his professional career with Portugal’s highest caste club, Vitoria Guimaraes SC in 2011.
But during the year, he was loaned a lot to second-tier clubs such as CD Trofense and SC Mirandela.
In the 2012 season, he was relegated to satellite club Vitoria Guimaraes SC who played in the second tier of the Portuguese League Vitoria Guimaraes SC B.
After that, from the 2012 to 2016 season he traveled to Portuguese clubs, starting from Santa Maria FC, Lusitanos FCV and Castelo Branco.
Fabio Fortes began to show his existence when he defended Penafiel who was playing in the second tier of the Portuguese League.
He defended Penafiel from 2016 to 2018 with a record 81 appearances, 20 goals and four assists.
In the 2018 season, he moved to another Portuguese League 2 club, namely FC Aurora. There he played for two seasons with 40 appearances, 11 goals and three assists.
After that in the 2020 season he tried a new adventure to the Romanian League with FC Hermannstadt.
He appeared 12 times and scored 1 goal in 15 matches for FC Hermannstadt in the top tier of the Romanian League.
Unfortunately, his team failed to penetrate the next phase and were relegated to the second tier for the 2022 season.
After that Fabio Frotes returned to the Portuguese League 2 with Coimbra.
Based on records from Transfermartk, he has only been a back-up striker during the 2021-2022 season.
He appeared 10 times with a record of 156 minutes, or about 15 minutes per game.
However, with limited playing time, he was able to score two goals and one assist.
