Arini contacted Hafiz, one of his family members. “He is still alive. He was call ask to be removed immediately.” Hafiz said, Monday (4/18/2022) citing the Kompas page.

Knowing this, Hafiz was asked to contact Arini again by the rescue team. Arini picked up the phone and again asked to be rescued immediately. “He can still pick up the phone.” said Hafiz.

The rescue team quickly returned to evacuate to find Arini as soon as possible. Arini is one of the survivors after the evacuation process by the rescue team.

Alfamart minimarket collapsed before breaking fast at 16.45 WITA. So far, 4 people have died. Citing various sources, there were 14 fatalities as a result of the collapse of this retail supermarket.

“There are a total of 14 victims, all found at 9 this morning, and 4 people died, while 9 other people were injured and being treated at the Agung Citra Graha Hospital,” said the Head of the Social Protection Section for Natural Disaster Victims (PSKBA) of the Social Service. South Kalimantan, Achmadi, Tuesday (19/4/2022) quoted the Tribune page.

Now, Arini has been successfully evacuated and is receiving intensive care at the hospital. As a result of this incident, he suffered fractures in his left shoulder and both legs.

To this day, there are 4 fatalities with the identities of Ahmad Nayada (25), Edy Priyanto (37), Misnawati, and one other victim whose identity is not yet known. The identities of the survivors include:

  1. Syifa/Norsifa, an Alfamart employee who is currently being treated at the Sultan Agung Banjar Baru Hospital
  2. Erfan, having his address at Gang Sirih Pekapuran, is an Alfamart employee, being treated at the Sultan Agung Banjar Baru Hospital, now he has been allowed to go home
  3. Yulia Ratna, an Alfamart employee, is being treated at the Sultan Agung Banjar Baru Hospital
  4. Fahrul Reza (21), being treated at the Sultan Agung Hospital Banjar Baru
  5. Hefianor, in good health, is being treated at the Sultan Agung Banjar Baru Hospital
  6. Agus Santoso (35), being treated at Ciputra Hospital, Banjarmasin
  7. Lia Agustina (20), an Alfamart employee, is being treated at the Sultan Agung Banjar Baru Hospital.
  8. Arini (30), having his/her address at Jl. Irrigation, now being treated at Ciputra Hospital, Banjarmasin
  9. Hanafi

Reporting from Tribunnews.com, residents who witnessed the incident said the Alfamart building was tilted, then the minimarket collapsed to the ground.

“First, a sound like a truck colliding. Then I saw the Alfamart store tilted to the left, until it collapsed.” said Kamylia who witnessed the collapse of Alfamart, Monday (19/4/2022).

Police Investigate Cause of Alfamart Collapse

Responding to this incident, South Kalimantan (Kalsel) Police Chief Inspector General Rikwanto visited the location of the Alfamart collapse on Jalan Ahmad Yani, Kilometer 14, Gambut District, Banjar Regency.

Inspector General Rikwanto came on Monday (18/4/2022) night with a number of high-ranking South Kalimantan Regional Police to directly monitor the evacuation process for victims who have not been found.

According to his observations, Rikwanto suspects that the three-story building used by Alfamart is quite old, which is 20 years old. In addition to old age, the building is also standing in a location that is often hit by floods.

This causes the foundation to be porous and no longer strong enough to withstand the load of the building. “This causes the foundation underneath to be damaged and brittle. So, it is not as strong as when it was originally built,” said Rikwanto.

To confirm this allegation, Rikwanto said his party would conduct an investigation. The investigation will involve a forensic team from Surabaya, East Java.

In response to this, Corporate Affairs Director Alfamart, Solihin expressed his condolences and condolences to all the victims. Alfamart will be responsible for providing compensation to all victims.
