The defender of the Indonesian national team in the World Cup Qualifiers, Yanto Basna, is reported to be soon joining Bhayangkara FC.
Yanto Basna is no longer playing for the Thai club, PT Prachuap.
The player who had strengthened the Indonesian national team in the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers did not get many minutes to play in the Thai League in the 2021-2022 season.
Reporting from Transfermarkt, the defender from Papua has been without a club since January 1, 2022.
Yanto Basna was previously rumored to be joining the League 1 promotion team, RANS Cilegon FC.
However, rumors of Yanto Basna’s arrival were denied by the coach of RANS Cilegon FC, Rahmad Darmawan.
The man who is familiarly called RD said that Yanto Basna was not close to RANS Cilegon FC.
“What I know is that Yanto Basna has joined Bhayangkara FC,” said RD, quoted by Bolanas from BolaSport.com.
The arrival of Yanto Basna will of course strengthen the Guardian’s back line.
The reason is, Bhayangkara FC has left two local players at the back, namely Hansamu Yama and Jajang Mulyana.
Hansamu Yama has been confirmed to be close to Persija Jakarta with a contract duration of one season.
Meanwhile, Jajang Mulyana is rumored to join Bali United or Dewa United.
Yanto Basna himself started his professional career by defending Mitra Kukar in 2015.
One season later, Yanto Basna showed an impressive performance with Persib Bandung.
In the 2017 season, Yanto Basna then moved to Sriwijaya FC.
After three years in Indonesia, Yanto Basna decided to start his adventure to Thailand.
Khon Kaen, Sukhothai, and PT Prachuap became the Thai club that the 26-year-old player defended.
Initially Yanto Basna wanted to continue his career to Japan or South Korea, but it was reported that he was actually closer to Bhayangkara FC.
Meanwhile, RANS Cilegon FC, which is rumored to have recruited Yanto Basna, has so far not introduced any new players.
Even so, RANS Cilegon FC has started a training session to welcome the 2022/2023 Liga 1 which will be held next July.
Apart from RANS Cilegon FC, Yanto Basna has also been linked with Persib Bandung, who will play in the AFC Cup next season.
Yanto Basna could replace Indra Mustafa as a back-up for Nick Kuipers and Victor Igbonefo.
