Apple claims 20 percent of its product materials are from recycled materials – 1NEWS

The announcement was made by Apple as well as conveying details of its latest program, as a celebration of Earth Day on April 22, as reported by The Verge, Wednesday (20/4/2022).

First, Apple uses recycled gold material to coat the main logic board on the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro. The material is also used in the cables for the front and rear cameras.

The material is taken directly by Apple from its own waste products.

When Apple’s recycling robots unload a metric ton of iPhone components, they can recover enough scrap gold and copper to avoid mining 2,000 metric tons of rock.
