The management of Persib Bandung, ensured that ahead of the Liga 1 competition next season, senior goalkeeper Maung Bandung, I Made Wirawan, his position in the pride of Bobotoh team is still safe.
The reason, according to the Director of PT Persib Bandung Dignity (PBB), Teddy Tjahjono, the goalkeeper from Gianyar, Bali is still under contract with the Maung Bandung squad.
Thus, the goalkeeper who uses the back number 78 is still part of the team to prepare for the League 1 competition next season.
“Made is still under contract with Persib,” said Teddy Tjahjono to reporters, Monday (18/04/22).
I Made Wirawan himself in the 2021-2022 Liga 1 competition, often sat on the bench and became a cover for Teja Paku Alam. Moreover, previously he had suffered an injury and had to undergo surgery on the knee.
Of the 34 matches played by the Maung Bandung squad in the 2021-2022 Liga 1 competition, Made appeared in two matches.
Namely when facing Persiraja Banda Aceh which ended 3-1 for Persib’s victory, and during a 1-1 draw with Persebaya Surabaya.
I Made Wirawan is the remaining goalkeeper for the Persib team, along with Teja Paku Alam and Aqil Savik after the end of the 2021-2022 Liga 1 competition.
The reason is, after the end of the 2021-2022 Liga 1 competition, Persib has separated from its two goalkeepers, Dhika Bayangkara and Muhammad Natshir.
Dhika Bayangkara’s contract duration with the Persib team has expired after the end of the 2021-2022 Liga 1 competition.
Persib’s management, according to Teddy, has submitted a contract extension to Dhika Bayangkara, but the 30-year-old goalkeeper refuses to continue working with Bobotoh’s pride team.
The reason is, Dhika Bayangkara, chose to join another club, in the hope of getting a chance to play.
In the 2021-2022 Liga 1 competition, Dhika Bayangkara is not in the Maung Bandung squad and must undergo a loan period with Persita Tangerang.
Similar to Dhika, Muhammad Natshir also chose to leave the Maung Bandung squad after the end of the 2021-2022 Liga 1 competition.
The goalkeeper, who is familiarly called Deden, is actually included in the list of players who are defended to face the Liga 1 competition next season.
So, after the end of the 2021-2022 Liga 1 competition, Persib’s management has tried to keep Deden, to fill the goalkeeper slot in Maung Bandung’s squad.
However, according to Teddy, the former goalkeeper for the Indonesian U-23 National Team, he already has plans and options to strengthen other teams in preparation for the Liga 1 competition next season.
So, the management reluctantly had to give up one of the goalkeepers who had been strengthening Bobotoh’s team for a long time.
“We have tried our best to defend Deden, but he chose a new atmosphere and challenge,” Teddy Tjahjono told reporters, Sunday (17/04/22).
Meanwhile, after releasing Dhika Bayangkara and Muhammad Natshir, Persib moved quickly by bringing in a new goalkeeper, Fitrul Dwi Rustapa, to prepare for the Liga 1 competition next season.
The announcement of the joining of Fitrul Dwi Rustapa was announced through the team’s social media, one of which is Instagram @persib, Monday (18/04/22) morning.
In his post, Persib uploaded a video of Fitrul Dwi Rustapa wearing a Persib jersey, with the caption ‘a true adventure will not forget the way home, born and raised in Garut, traveling east and finally returning to West Java, wilujeng sumping Fitrul Dwi Rustapa in Parahyangan Earth’.
According to Teddy, the recruitment of Fitrul Dwi Rustapa was a recommendation from the goalkeeping coach, Luizinho Passos.
Because the coaching team understands more about the team’s needs to face next season, so the management tries to meet these needs.
Regarding the duration of the contract agreed by both parties, Teddy said that the cooperation between the Maung Bandung and Fitrul Dwi Rustapa squad will last for one season with the option of an extension of one season.
“For a 1+1 contract,” explained Teddy.
